Beach days are upon us again! Come over while the anchors are freshly dropped, you might find something glimmering in the sea spray!

June’s Book of the Month

Between you and me, nothing beats a relaxing day at the beach with a hefty book chock full of stories! We're delighted to bring back a blast from the past for June's Book of the Month: We Are Here, Walking Toward The Unknown! In a temporal handshake between Mary Shelley and our young authors, this Fifteenth Anniversary publication will propel you through thrills and chills inspired by ­Frankenstein in tandem with current sci-fi themes, as well as personal stories about transformations and adapting to them. As a rare bonus for our featured books, you can even find a curriculum guide for educators!

Prepare to be transmogrified as you read through dozens of deep-dives through not only the minds of our young authors, but their hearts and souls which they have poured into the forging of their stories! I know I've been transmogrified after reading, which is really cool since I now have real fingers to actually write this blog post!

Reanimate your inner bookworm with We Are Here, Walking Toward The Unknown! It's great to read through from sunbathers to surfers and everyone in between! It's one of the best ways to pass time while enjoying the sun and surf, just heed caution if you're planning on operating heavy seafaring vessels- after all, you need both hands on the captain's wheel!

Calling Local Artists and Craftsfolk!

Are you an artist based in the Bay Area looking for places to sell your wares? Well, you're in luck like a salty sea duck! We're seeking local vendors for Saturday Treasure Marts! Every Saturday from June 28 until August, we'll be hosting a community art market behind the Pirate Supply Store so support both our local artisans and our non-profit! If you or someone you know is interested in vending at one of our Treasure Marts, check out or forward this link! We will have a revolving cast of regular crew and new mateys every Saturday, so don't hesitate to let your artist friends know that we're always on the lookout for more vendors! 

Treasure Mart: Plunder with Pride!

On June 28th, we will be hosting our first Treasure Mart of the year! We're kicking things off with a Pride-themed mart, celebrating and highlighting local LGBTQIA+ creatives and the art they create! Upcoming artists and vendors will be given the scoop on details through our official Instagram account @826valencia, so keep your parrots on to be notified! This will be our first of many Treasure Marts, so keep your eyes peeled for more summer sellers and chances to see your favorite local artists at our tables!
